Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Bellamy was the first person i remember doing it.

its absolute CRINGE now though, especially when that midget prick Sullivan keeps doing it............ or Ray Winstone.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Everyone I see doing it is early to mid 20's... skinny jeans... beard... flat cap... and a West ham shirt with `I 8 SPURS' on the back... Gavvy basically... says it all.... cocks

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Absolute CRINGE.... look like a load of E Factor wannabes.... 1st person I ever saw do one was a Chelsea MATE who worked at the post office round here... used to do it hanging out the window of his van whilst abusing me... early 90's would have been

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Must admit I thought it came to the surface about 7 years ago then I saw the photo of Stuart Slater and another player doing it when he was a player.
Personally I think it can come in handy if say you are on a railway platform and want to let people on the train know your allegiance.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
One of the wankest things I've ever seen a football crowd do. I've no idea if they still do it, just remember it being stuck up on here a few years back.

neilalex, man crosses his arms, you know hes a West Ham fan.

Man pretends to be mauled by a tiger, you call him an ambulance in the presumption hes having a stroke.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Hull City fans. You do that 'mauled by the Tigers' thing with your hands.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
I like it. It's original. We dont need to nick someone elses song and slow it down to identify ourselves.

How many other sets of fans can identify themselves with a gesture.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
I didn't say it means they never want to leave and have WHUFC tattooed on their hearts, I said it brings us a little closer to them - primarily from our point of view.

People love it when a player does that - it's the modern-day 'kissing the badge', but it's more special because it's unique to us.

does this happen at the new place?

Sullivan doing anything other than writhing in agony as he splutters to his death pisses me off.

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
I loved it when Tevez did it coming back with Man Utd. It is getting a bit overused though, and I hate seeing Sullivan, who's a Cardiff fan, do it.

OtB - Sakho has done it loads but wants to leave so you’re talking tosh as usual.

How, about crossing your legs?

Re: Fans doing the 'crossed Hammers' sign
Along with Bubbles, it's something that actually is unique about us. Seeing a player do it when they celebrate brings us a tiny little bit closer to them, which can't hurt.

I like it.
